Help
The ratings
Every player gets one of four tags, always with a written reason — never a mystery score. The rating blends current form, expected goal involvements (the quality of chances, not just goals), how nailed-on his minutes are, and the fixtures ahead.
Strong pick — among the best options in his position right now.
Good pick — a solid buy at his price.
Hold — keep him if you own him; don't chase him.
Avoid — the numbers don't cover the risk.
Badges
DIFF — differential: rated highly but owned by few managers. If he delivers, you climb; the crowd doesn't.
DUE — his underlying numbers run ahead of his points: chances created or received but wasted around him. Low score, strong performance — often a smart early buy.
DEFCON — defensive contributions. Clearing the threshold in a match is worth +2: ten clearances, blocks, interceptions and tackles for a defender, twelve of those plus ball recoveries for a midfielder or forward. Goalkeepers cannot earn it. The badge means he clears his own threshold in an average full match, so we quote a rate per 90 rather than a season total — a total only rewards whoever played more games.
▲ / ▼ — form trend over recent gameweeks: improving or fading.
C — our captain pick on a pitch view.
★ — on My team, the player we'd give the armband from your own squad.
Fixture colours
Fixture chips use the official 1–5 difficulty scale: green = kind, grey = medium, red = tough. Solid chips are home games, outlined chips are away. "(H)" and "(A)" mean the same in text.
Chips (boosters)
WC — Wildcard: rebuild your whole squad for free.
BB — Bench Boost: your bench scores too for one week.
TC — Triple Captain: captain scores ×3 instead of ×2.
FH — Free Hit: a one-week temporary squad, then everything snaps back.
The Fixtures page shows which gameweeks suit each chip; My team's Coach times them for your actual squad.
Dream XV controls
Dream XV builds the best 15-man squad your budget buys. + Add under Must-have players pins anyone you insist on — Tinkerman builds the rest around them, inside the budget. On the pitch, ⇄ swaps a player for the next best alternative, and a ✓ ring marks your pinned picks. Reset swaps undoes experiments; Reset squad clears everything.
Your team ID
No account, no login. Your FPL team ID is a public number. Open fantasy.premierleague.com in a browser — the official app never shows it — go to your team page and tap Gameweek History. The address then reads .../entry/ID/history; paste the whole thing into My team and we take the number out. Tinkerman reads your public squad and computes everything on your device.
Pro
The analysis and data stay free. Pro unlocks the decision engines — Pro Coach, Dream XV, chip windows and three-way comparisons — with one season-pass payment. Your unlock code arrives right after checkout and works on your other devices with the purchase email. Lost it? Re-open the link in your Stripe receipt email.
A pass covers one season and ends on 30 June: buy any time from June onwards and it runs to the end of the upcoming season; buy mid-season (January–May) and it covers the rest of that season. When a new season starts, a new pass unlocks it.
